The Western Cape was missing its favourite tourists. With South Africa on the travel red list and international flights banned at the time, Wesgro still wanted to stay top of mind. We knew that our audience had started researching travel destinations and planning their post-pandemic trips. But, how do you advertise a holiday destination when no-one can come and visit yet? You don't. Instead of creating a travel campaign urging the impossible 'come and visit us now', we gave prospective tourists the ability to have a conversation with one of their own - a countryman who loved the Western Cape so much, they never left.
